Florastor provides nutritional support for imbalances in intestinal flora, food sensitivity issues, recurring yeast overgrowth, sensitive digestion and recurring forms of negative bacterial overgrowth.
In the intestine, there is a protective barrier made up of different bacteria called flora. A disruption of this protective barrier can come about due to antibiotics, contamination from disease causing organisms, food allergies, and insufficient or excessive digestive enzymes. Dysbiosis, changes of the normal and necessary bacteria, can lead to intestinal disorders and whole body diseases.
When there is a disruption of the intestinal barrier, undigested food particles, bad bacteria and viruses can cause a reaction throughout the body's immune system. This can lead to microbial diarrhea due to the total breakdown of the protective flora barrier.
Florastor helps re-establish the normal intestinal flora. It is a floromimetic, in that it is able to restore the metabolic function and the protective barrier effect of the normal intestinal flora. Data from pharmacological studies have shown that Florastor can inhibit the pathogenic effects of different bacteria such as Clostridium difficile and its toxins A and B. Florastor has also been shown to inhibit the effects of E. Coli toxins. It has the ability to stimulate the production of antibodies that help defend against many invaders, including bacteria and viruses. Florastor helps reduce diarrhea, form a number of causes, including medications, food allergy, stress and travel.
