NutraXyme, in collaboration with renowned microbiology company Institut Rosell, is one of the first to provide a Lactose Free, Dairy Free, DNA verified strain of saccharomyces boulardii (SB). The strain of SB in this product has been researched extensively in American and European Universities and has been published in many peer-reviewed, and major scientific journals. Flora Restore DF has been shown to promote overall intestinal health.*

Flora Restore DF™ is manufactured by Institut Rosell®, who employs a proprietary production process that does not require lactose to be in the formula. Saccharomycin DF™ is perfect for patients who are dairy/lactose intolerant and safe for infants through elderly. However, as a precaution, it is not recommended to give probiotics to severely immuno-depressed patients, people who have recently had cardiac, oral or gastrointestinal surgery, patients presenting with pancreatic dysfunction or bloody diarrhea, patients under radiation therapy, or infants with short bowel syndrome.
Saccharomyces boulardii has the following three mechanisms of action: 1) Serves as an anti-toxin against bacterial toxins. 2) Stimulates immune cells of the intestinal mucosa. 3) Modulates the release of polyamines that repair intestinal health.
The large surface area of this special yeast’s mannose-dominant outer membrane allows it to bind bacteria such as E.coli and Salmonella ssp., preventing the bacteria from adhering to the intestinal epithelium and possibly expelling these pathogens from the body via the stool.
Clostridium diffi cile-infected mice given Sb were protected from the infection. Castex and his colleagues explained that the yeast inactivated the Clostridium toxin. In another similar experiment Qamar demonstrated a fourfold increase in specifi c IgA in mice administered C diffi cile toxin A after pre-treatment with Sb.
In a placebo-controlled study on the use of Sb to prevent Antibiotic Associated Diarrhea, (AAD) the percentage of pts who experienced the problem in the placebo group compared to the Sb-treated group was 21.8% compared to only 9.5%. Another study by Marteau showed that the Sb treatment cut the risk of AAD in half.
Saccharomyces has been extensively researched and published in European and American peer-reviewed journals. (Please see references for studies cited, as well as a portion of those in the literature)

HPMC is hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, the highly purifi ed, hypo-allergenic, non-GMO form of cellulose that is physiologically inert. It is what constitutes the capsule.
